All dogs are evaluated prior to training to qualify for the program . Each dog is carefully matched up with the veteran in need.
Paws of War stands behind our dogs 100%. We will always take our dogs back if for any reason the veteran is not satisfied.

There is no cost to the veterans. Initial costs are absorbed by Paws of War. We rely solely on public donations.

According to the Department of Veteran Affairs of 750,000 veterans who served in Afghanistan and Iraq, approximately 100,000 sought mental health care. Half of those were diagnosed with PTSD(Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). Service and comfort dogs have been proven to be 84.1% effective at treating PTSD. Paws of War Mission: To train and place shelter dogs to serve and provide independence to our United States military veterans that suffer from the emotional effects of war such as PTSD. In turn each veteran can experience the therapeutic and unconditional love only a companion animal can bring.
