Dogs Available for Adoption
Paws of War works to rescue abandoned and at-risk animals and provide them with safe and loving homes. Those ready to find their perfect match are featured below. All our animals are available for adoption (upon review and approval of application) at no fee to Veterans, First Responders, and Gold Star Families. All animals will be fully vetted and come with training and support.
Unless otherwise stated, all dogs are available to Veterans, First Responders, and Gold Star Families, and applications are open for all dogs listed.

Please note - All meet and greets with our animals are done through an appointment and only after the application has been reviewed. Please do not stop by our office without an appointment. We will not be able to accommodate you. Please make sure when filling out the application, you complete it entirely, incomplete applications will not be processed. Thank you
singo
Open to any loving home.
Singo is a 1.5-year-old mixed breed rescued through Paws of War’s War-Torn Pups and Cats program. She can be shy at first, but once she warms up, she’s a loving and playful girl with lots of energy.
Singo is looking for an active, adult-only home with no other dogs or cats, and a fenced in backyard where she can continue to grow and thrive.
Singo has already been through so much and is ready for a life of only love and comfort.
She’s a loyal companion ready for her fresh start.
motcha
Open to any loving home.
Motcha is a 1.5-year-old Canaan mix with a sweet, affectionate personality and a strong sense of loyalty to her people. She loves being close to those she trusts and will quickly become a devoted companion.
Motcha can be protective of her home and family, so she is looking for an adult-only home with a fenced in yard.
She thrives with space to run and play, so a house with a large, secure yard is ideal.
Motcha is also eligible to start training in our program, which will help her continue to build confidence and grow into her best self.
gizmo
Open to any loving home.
Gizmo is a 2-year-old Shih Tzu–Poodle mix with a lot of love in the right hands
Gizmo is extremely reactive and will need an experienced, patient adopter who can follow structure and training closely to help set him up for success. Someone with experience with this type of dog is preferred.
Gizmo will need to be the only animal in and adult-only home, and a fenced in yard. He will thrive best with someone who understands dogs like him and is willing to work with him consistently.
Gizmo cannot be around children due to his reactivity. Training support will be provided to his adopter—he just needs the right person willing to give him a chance outside of the kennel.

Meet Charlie! This adorable young Beagle is sweet, gentle, and slowly learning how wonderful life can be outside of Ridglan Farms. Now safe in a foster home, Charlie is finally experiencing kindness, comfort, and love for the very first time.
Charlie is still very timid, but he comes out of his shell a little more every day. He absolutely loves other dogs and gains confidence from having canine companions around him. He also enjoys cozy naps, soft beds, and quiet time where he can feel safe and relaxed. With patience, understanding, and a loving home,
Charlie has all the potential to blossom into a loyal and devoted companion. Behind his soulful eyes is a sweet boy just waiting for the chance to fully shine and become a cherished member of a forever family.
Applications are open to Veterans, First Responders, and Gold Star Families. We are looking for a home with another friendly dog and a safe fenced in yard. Local to Long Island or in the tri-state area.

Meet Shady! This adorable 3-month-old Chihuahua/Cavapoo mix is full of sweetness, curiosity, and playful puppy charm. Shady loves exploring the world around her, then snuggling up for naps, and soaking up all the attention she can get. She has a gentle, loving personality and is already winning hearts everywhere she goes.
With her soft coat, bright eyes, and happy spirit, Shady is ready to find a forever home - with a veteran, first responders, or Gold Star
Family, who will help her grow into the perfect companion. Due to her young age, she will need someone home part of the day.

Meet Raven! This precious 3-month-old Chihuahua/Cavapoo mix is as lovable as she is adorable. Raven is playful, affectionate, and always ready for cuddles after a fun day of puppy adventures.
She enjoys being around people, learning new things, and showing off her sweet personality. With her gentle nature and playful energy, Due to her young age, she will need someone home part of the day.
Raven will make a wonderful addition to a loving home ready to give her the care, patience, and love every puppy deserves.

Meet Ox! This handsome 1-year-old Yellow Lab is overflowing with energy, love, and classic Labrador enthusiasm.
Ox is always ready for adventure, whether it’s running around the yard, playing fetch, or making new friends everywhere he goes. He has a big heart, a joyful spirit, and absolutely loves being around people. After playtime, Ox is more than happy to soak up attention and cuddle beside his favorite humans.
Because of his size, excitement, and energetic personality, Ox is looking for an adult-only home where he can continue to
thrive and receive the structure and attention he needs. A securely fenced backyard is also a must for this active boy so he can safely run, play, and burn off his energy. Ox would do best with an active, loving forever family who can keep up with his playful personality and give him all the love he deserves.

Meet River! This beautiful one-year-old Yellow Lab has a heart as big as her personality! This sweet girl is full of love, happiness, and endless energy. River is always ready for an adventure, whether it’s running around the yard, going for long walks, or playing fetch until the sun goes down.
River is incredibly affectionate and loves being around her people. She thrives on attention, companionship, and staying active, making her the perfect match for someone with an active lifestyle who is ready to give her the structure, exercise, and love she deserves.
Because of her high energy level and excitement, River would do best in an adult-only home where she can continue to learn and grow in a calm, consistent environment. A fenced-in yard is a must for this playful girl so she can safely run, explore, and burn off some of that Lab energy.
